Responsible for business system applications and their functions for SWDIC and CMI related to the Radiology Information System (RIS), the referring physician online exam order and results system, Document Management System (DMS), RIS reporting system, Call Management System (CMS), Automatic Call Distribution system (ACD), Royal modules, and related server needs. Responsible for the development, testing, maintenance, and implementation of modifications and changes to RIS, DMS, CMS, ACD, Royal modules, and RIS reporting system software packages.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies existing and future systems, to include encoding, testing, debugging, and installation to support application systems.
Evaluates systems functionality and evaluates user needs and operational impact.
Consults with internal and external users to identify issues and current operating procedures and to clarify program and/or system objectives.
May be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic,
coding, and modifications.
Writes manual(s) for users to describe installation and operating procedures.
Provides technical support to internal and external customers responsible for any subset of SWDIC/CMI applications systems.
Provides assistance in one or all areas of applications that includes testing, design, workflow, and analysis.
Assists in the formulation of system(s) procedures and best practices for users of application(s).
Responsible for building and maintenance of all dictionaries, features, and functionalities of existing and future system applications.
Responsible for troubleshooting errors and workflow concerns of assigned users/departments related specifically to existing and future system applications.
Reports system problems and change requests to appropriate support vendors.
Maintains error tracking and vendor support requests of all assigned systems.
Assists other company system administrators with integration and interfacing as needed; including, but not limited to: PACS, mammography tracking system (MRS), and billing system.
Evaluates and reports equipment performance deficiencies to the IS Department.
Evaluates and reports hardware maintenance deficiencies to the IS Department.
Creates and maintains training materials and curriculum for the training of assigned
Coordinates and assists in training of personnel on assigned systems.
Responsible for training of referring physicians and their staff in regards to the referring physician online exam order and results system.
Maintains the security levels of RIS, MRP, iConnect, and Royal.
Interacts with entire staff including employees, directors, administrator, and radiologists for troubleshooting and training.
Works with manager and Compliance Committee to ensure Compliance Program is followed.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of system applications.
Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts.
Relies on experience and judgement and experience to plan and accomplish tasks.
Must possess and maintain a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
Must be able to assist troubleshooting each system in use.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public and to remain calm under stress.
Treat all patients, referring physicians, referring physician’s staff, and co-workers with dignity and respect. Be polite and courteous at all times. Go the extra mile for patients, referring physicians, and referring physician’s staff.
Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality with all such information.
Must work closely with all departments to ensure that all functions are working correctly.
Must be able to effectively train personnel.
Comprehensive knowledge of the company’s environment and its relationship with all departments within the center and of the physician network.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, technical school, college, or related computer training and experience.
3-6 years of applicable experience within the healthcare or related arena.
Must have thorough understanding of computer systems, software, and hardware.
Knowledge of radiology information, reporting, and other healthcare related systems helpful for full understanding of how system integration and interfacing should work together.
