Seeking to hire a highly motivated individual to fill a B2B Business Development Manager role. This position will build business relationships with organizations in the dairy supply chain including processors, grocers, QSRs and other retail outlets that sell dairy products across Texas, New Mexico, Western Oklahoma and Southwest Kansas. The purpose of this position is to:

  1. support industry partners in increasing dairy sales
  2. act as a resource for industry partners who are experiencing industry related issues or crisis
  3. connect industry partners to consumer insights and industry resources available through the Dairy Innovation Center
  4. build trust with industry partners to encourage them to address consumer concerns with one voice
  5. add value to programs with industry partner support

The Marketing Manager position requires a strong influencer and relationship builder who can navigate ambiguity and complexity.  The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who is team oriented, results focused and has a background in:  dairy processing or retailing, CPG marketing, B2B sales or marketing. This individual will travel a significant portion of the time to meet with partners around the region. 



Understand and align with strategies and program area objectives to support work across the organization

Seek value-adds from industry partners to support programs

Connect team to supply chain partners and manage regular communication to develop relationships

Foster collaborative relationships across the organization and support departments as needed

Collect data and create monthly recaps of program developments, progress, and patterns and report results


Build relationships with partners in the dairy supply chain with a focus in non-traditional retail channels

Oversee relationships with targeted processor, retailers, manufacturers and other potential channel partners that enable work on innovative projects that drive dairy sales

Cultivate industry contacts with a platform for positively impacting consumer confidence in the dairy supply chain, i.e. state grocer’s associations and other professional industry professional organizations.  

Collaborate with industry partners to create scalable and sustainable retail programs that drive dairy sales

Execute national retail partnerships locally

Build industry relationships focused on protecting dairy during issues or crisis

Support DMI, Innovation Center and MilkPEP partnerships to drive value locally

Provide assistance to help increase access to dairy for the food insecure and raise awareness of food insecurity in the U.S. and worldwide.

Measure and report on relationship value/strength


Manage relationship prioritization and pipeline

Identify potential partners and prioritize targets based on objectives

Create a relationship pipeline and move partners through the pipeline from introduction to execution

Execute a strategy to maintain relationships for long term growth

Work with Director to create communication pieces to effectively communicate with partners

Act as the industry expert on the team and provide insights on existing and emerging sales trends

Measure and report on pipeline progress
