Remote Commercial Title Examiner Direct Hire

We are looking for a Commercial Title Examiner responsible to search public records and examine titles to determine legal condition of primary residential property title.

Your specific duties will include:

• Examine titles from moderate to advanced complexity to determine status or establish title bases
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and distribution of preliminary title reports and final title insurance policies to buyers, lenders and agents
• Abstracts and analyzes records, such as vesting deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, bankruptcies, UCC financial statements and plat and map books to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records.
• Prepare policy insurance report, working directly with Underwriting Agent to ensure compliance
• Resolves most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation.
• Prepares initial commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines.

Specific qualifications for the position include:

• 5+ years Commercial Title Examination experience required
• 2 years of Underwriting experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience with Origination Products across multiple states.
• Proficient in performing Property Index and General Name Index searching for effect on Title using Title Plant (Data Trace, Data Tree) and Online County URL.
